Centennial Farm Adding New Building
Centennial Farm at the Orange County Fairgrounds attracted a record 46,089 young visitors during the 1996-97 school year.
The working farm, open to tours since 1989, is home to a wide variety of crops, including corn, lettuce, cabbage and strawberries. Livestock include rabbits, goats, horses, cows, pigs and buffalo.
The farm soon will include a new structure, the Buffalo Ranch Silo Complex. The silo was acquired by the fairgrounds in 1994 from the Buffalo Ranch in Newport Beach and is being refurbished with private donations.
An educational resource center and offices for farm staff will be housed in the complex.
Construction will be completed in time for the 105th Orange County Fair, July 11 to 27.
