Grenade Attack on Highway Kills 7

Assailants crashed into a vehicle carrying police and, attempting to flee, hurled two grenades onto a crowded highway, killing seven people and wounding up to 40, police said. The incident occurred on a highway packed with slow-moving vehicles near the capital, Kampala. The assailants’ car hit a post office vehicle crammed with officers en route to night duty, said the regional police commissioner, Stephen Oonuyu. The victims included motorists and pedestrians. No arrests have been made.
