A Sensitively Told Story of a Different Way of Life

Re Lynn Smith’s “The Family Man” (July 27): What a sensitive and interesting article.
I am a genealogist, not a Mormon, but make extensive use of their repositories. I have done a lot of reading on the Mormons and consider their history very, very interesting. Your article personalized this history. Smith treated the subject matter (polygamy) kindly, which often isn’t done. One would have to have a very jaundiced attitude to not be willing to enter into this story with her.
There are not enough articles about people different from the mainstream in newspapers these days. To find one like hers is very refreshing.
Thanks so much for making reading the paper such a treat this weekend.
