Money Wasted on City Manager

A message to Ventura City Manager Donna Landeros:
Congratulations on your raise of $9,000 plus. I can see why Ventura needs so many volunteers to do the jobs of those who used to be paid to do them.
That $9,000 could pay for a part-time employee, someone who really needs the money like a senior citizen for which there are no paying jobs at the city level.
Or, to pay the rent on the Downtown/Beach police storefront, which has such a positive presence and influence but which has to hold fund-raisers and solicit donations to keep it open.
One day soon, the volunteers are going to wise up and demand that good, voting citizens get their jobs with pay.
The city manager’s position is not worth the salary and perks you are paid.
