New Rules for Adult Businesses Possible

The City Council on Monday is set to consider whether revisions are needed to the local ordinance regulating where adult businesses may operate.
The revisions, among other things, would restrict nude dance clubs and other adult businesses to industrial areas instead of commercially zoned ones.
The council had been set to act on the proposal last month, but an attorney for a business seeking to open an erotic dance club on Beach Boulevard contended that the revisions left the city open to lawsuits.
The city attorney’s office has since reviewed the matter and said the city policy would be legal. The 7 p.m. meeting will be held in the City Council chambers, 2000 Main St. Information: (714) 536-5227.
