Rancho Cucamonga Topples JetHawks, 4-3

RANCHO CUCAMONGA — Robbie Kent singled home Rick Prieto with two out in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes a 4-3 victory Wednesday over the Lancaster JetHawks in a California League game at the Epicenter.
JetHawk reliever Rafael Rivera (1-3) retired the first two batters in the sixth before walking Prieto.
Mike Mitchell and Greg Shockey had consecutive RBI doubles in the first inning as Rancho Cucamonga (19-14) jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Mitchell, from Rio Mesa High, and Shockey, from Cal State Northridge, each extended hitting streaks to 15 games.
The JetHawks (20-13) came back with three runs in the second, behind an RBI double by Josh Watts and a two-run double by Luis Molina.
Three Rancho Cucamonga pitchers retired the final 13 JetHawk batters. James Sak picked up his 19th save--and his sixth against the JetHawks.
