The Huntington Beach Mall will be the site this weekend of the 1997 DARE Fair fund-raiser, which aims at informing young and old about public safety issues.
The fair includes a carnival, which is open today from 5 to 11 p.m. and throughout Saturday and Sunday on the south side of the mall, at the San Diego Freeway and Beach Boulevard.
A free indoor fair, featuring games, youth presentations, entertainment and public safety displays and presentations, will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the DARE anti-drug program, as well as anti-violence and anti-gang programs run by the Police Department.
