Oxnard 28, Rio Mesa 18--Ho Kiakiana’s 92-yard opening kickoff return for a touchdown ignited Oxnard at Rio Mesa.
Oxnard’s Desmond Davis (75 yards in 16 carries) had a 54-yard touchdown run and reserve quarterback Adrian Maciel threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Chris O’Brien giving Oxnard (7-1-1, 5-0-1) a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter.
Oxnard’s Chad Pierson rushed for 79 yards in 11 carries.
Rio Mesa’s Jay Flores ran for 145 yards in 21 carries.
