Nov. 23: Workshop on making a Thanksgiving centerpiece, 1 to 3 p.m., at Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Can~ada Flintridge, (818) 952-4401. $45, which includes plant materials, with pre-registration required by calling (818) 949-7980. Each participant must bring a container and pruning shears.
