*** Congo Norvell, “Abnormals Anonymous,” Jetset Records. The scent of obsession wafts from every noir note in the latest from L.A. singer Sally Norvell and former Cramps/Gun Club/Bad Seeds guitarist Kid Congo Powers. Abetted here by fellow dark lord Mark Eitzel, who duets with Norvell on five songs, they continue to give Nick Cave and PJ Harvey worthy competition with their somber sinners’ hymns and manic penitent pleas.
