Woman, 77, Hit, Killed by Car as She Crosses Street

ANAHEIM — An Anaheim woman died Tuesday after a car struck her as she crossed the street to catch a bus, police said.
Just before 6 a.m., Maria Sofia Cano, 77, was crossing Lincoln Avenue near Dale Street when she was hit, police said.
The driver, an Anaheim man, told police he didn’t see Cano until impact, authorities said.
Cano was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she died of her injuries, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
