Football/Quarterback
Frank, from Rancho Alamitos High, capped his sophomore season with 334 yards passing and four touchdowns as Golden West beat Pasadena, 35-31. His final touchdown pass came in the fourth quarter and was good for a Golden West-record 90 yards to wide receiver Darrell Miles with 4 minutes 40 seconds left. Frank led Orange County in passing with 1,968 yards.
Football
Chad Collins
* Orange Coast, sophomore. He threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 50 yards as OCC stopped a 17-game losing streak with a 22-20 victory over Fullerton.
Jacque Servado
Cypress, Freshman
Golf
Servado came from Bakersfield Highland High School to Cypress only to have her greatest success of the season much closer to her hometown. She shot two-over-par 74 to win medalist honors and Cypress won the state golf title Nov. 17 at Copper River Country Club near Fresno. Cypress tied Fresno for the team title, then beat the Rams on the second playoff hole.
Cross-Country
Araceli Martinez
* Orange Coast, freshman. She finished fifth in the state meet and the Pirates won the state title at Woodward Park in Fresno.
