Federal Express to Open Facility at Spectrum

IRVINE — A major Federal Express Corp. distribution center will open in April on 11.7 acres at the Irvine Spectrum business center, the Irvine Co. announced Friday. About 2,200 companies are based at Irvine Spectrum, and Federal Express’ closest distribution center has been six miles away, near John Wayne Airport. Wilson & Dalton Inc., a developer that has built nine such facilities for Federal Express, will buy the land from the Irvine Co., construct the center and lease it to the Memphis, Tenn.-based express delivery service.
