SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Four teenagers have been arrested on charges of drugging an 11-year-old girl with heroin and raping her.
The male suspects--one 18 years old, two 17 and one 16--met the girl in downtown Santa Cruz on Thursday and drove to a beach parking lot, where one of the teens allegedly raped her, sheriff’s spokesman Kim Allyn said.
After the attack, the accused drove about 10 miles to a wooded area where they and the girl reportedly smoked heroin.
The teens then allegedly raped her over several hours. Police said she was so drugged she was unable to fend off their attacks. The suspects later dropped her off at a downtown parking lot, police said.
The girl, who reportedly knew one of her accused attackers, was treated for a heroin overdose.
Police arrested the teenagers Friday for investigation of child molestation and furnishing controlled substances to a minor.
