Re “Jones Vows to Continue Fight With Clinton,” April 17: I have a nomination for next year’s Academy Awards. It is Paula Jones as best actress for her brilliant performance at the news conference. Blond streaks, semi-perfect makeup, topped with almost realistic tears. It was so authentic, you could almost forget that she was on stage.

* Reported (April 16) is the statement by those paying Jones’ expenses in suing the president that “the case is alive and vibrant.”
“Vibrant” is not a word describing a harassment victim’s claim for damages. It appears that Jones’ goal in appealing the judgment is not to prove that she suffered any particular harm, but to continue mining media attention from suing the president.
Have any true harassments victim ever thought they had a vibrant claim to assert?

* Thank you for having the courage not to print the judicially insulting and insipid appeal brought by Jones on your April 17 front page. It was such a pleasure to see The Times return to the reporting of real news that should be on the front page.

* O.J. Simpson, Paula Jones, Kenneth Starr, please, please go away. I don’t want to read about you, hear about you or see you anymore. I have had it. Please, please go away.
