A dental assistant accused of fondling a 10-year-old girl and a 20-year-old woman in an Irvine medical building was released on bail Wednesday from Orange County Jail, police said.
Randall Allan Yee, 35, of Fountain Valley was arrested at his home Tuesday evening, after two patients told police he had assaulted them, police said.
Irvine police began investigating Yee after a 10-year-old girl reported on March 9 that she was fondled by Yee during a visit with Dr. Vivian Jui at his offices on Sand Canyon Avenue police said.
On Friday, a second patient told police she had been assaulted by Yee in the office of Dr. Charles Hasse at the same address, police said.
Hasse said he hired Yee less than a year ago, shortly after Yee finished the dental assistant program at Orange Coast College.
“I am shocked and devastated by this,” Hasse said.
Irvine Police Lt. Tom Hume said Yee was on loan to Jui from Hasse’s office. Both doctors have cooperated fully with authorities, Hume said.
“The dentists have very legitimate practices,” Hume said. “They were completely unaware of the incidents and were dismayed by the events.”
Yee posted $10,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment later this month on charges of committing rape by foreign object and a lewd act with a child.
