Man Shot in Head During Argument

OJAI — Sheriff’s deputies were searching Saturday night for a man who shot another man in the head during a dispute at a mobile home park.
The victim, Thomas Mahl, 36, was unconscious when paramedics took him to Ventura County Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head, Ventura County Fire Department officials said. He was in serious condition late Saturday, hospital officials said.
The shooting occurred about 7:30 p.m. at Casitas Springs Mobile Home Park at 8159 Nye Road, deputies said. The suspect reportedly fled on foot and was later seen in a cab headed toward Ventura.
More than a dozen deputies on foot, in cars and a helicopter searched the community surrounding the shooting scene. Deputies also responded to a bar on Main Street in Ventura where witnesses said the suspect had gone.
No arrests had been made late Saturday night.
