Youngstown State Beats UCI Women

Brianne Kenneally scored 17 points Monday to help Youngstown State defeat UC Irvine, 64-61, in the consolation game of the Pepperdine women’s basketball tournament.
Kenneally also had four assists and three three-pointers for Youngstown State (6-5).
All-tournament selection Chelsea Mackey had 13 points and 12 rebounds for Irvine (2-7).
In nonconference men’s basketball:
Occidental 71, Chapman 45--Alex Vyborg scored 21 points for visiting Occidental (4-3), which shot 57% from the field in the second half to pull away. Nate Strange and Damon Williams each scored nine points for Chapman (7-4).
