Amtrak Adds Texas, Chicago Service
Amtrak’s thrice-weekly Texas Eagle train between Chicago and San Antonio now continues westward to Los Angeles once a week, providing Angelenos with another train to those cities.
Until the route change last week, only the thrice-weekly Sunset Limited served San Antonio from L.A. And Chicago-to-L.A. service was provided exclusively by the daily Southwest Chief. On its swing to Los Angeles, the Eagle uses the same route as the Sunset Limited, serving such cities as Tucson, El Paso and Palm Springs. Information: (800) USA-RAIL.
