Tracy Wins Battle of the Murrays

Clipper forward Lamond Murray didn’t get a chance to visit with his cousin, Tracy, before Saturday night’s game against the Washington Wizards.
“Tracy wanted to rest because he played Friday night,” Murray said.
But the Murrays, who play against each other every summer in Los Angeles, got together when Tracy entered the game 10 minutes into the first quarter and guarded Lamond.
Tracy outscored Lamond, 10-0, in a nine-minute spurt and had 14 points in the first half.
Lamond Murray missed six of nine shots and had six points in the first half.
As soon as Tracy went to the bench, Lamond made two consecutive shots.
Lamond Murray, who has averaged 19.4 points and 8.4 rebounds in his last five games, has become the Clippers’ leading rebounder with Lorenzen Wright sidelined.
“I don’t think it’s a hot streak, I’m just playing basketball,” Murray said.

Wright, who let his hair grow into a big natural similar to the hairdos popular in the 1970s, had it braided at a Washington beauty salon for $30 after practice Friday.
“I had nappy hair,” Wright said. “I couldn’t get a haircut and I needed to do something with it. It was out of control.
“This is easier to manage. All I’ve got to do is get up in the morning and I’m ready to go.”
Wright, who has missed eight of the last nine games, missed his fourth in a row because of a sprained right ankle.
Wright, who sprained his ankle in last Sunday’s 28-point loss at Detroit, hopes to play Monday at Minnesota.
