Ruperto M. Ramirez; Retired Farmer

Retired farmer and Saticoy resident Ruperto M. Ramirez died Friday after complications during surgery. He was 91.
Ramirez was born March 27, 1907, in San Carlos, Ariz., and was raised in Juarez, Mexico.
He was a hand-milker by trade and a farmer, his family said. During his career, Ramirez worked for Adhor Farms, Poinsettia Dairy and Cal-Turf. He retired in 1978.
Ramirez was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcelina Centeno, and a brother, Cirilo Ramirez.
Ramirez is survived by his wife of 72 years, Beatrice Ramirez; two sons, Robert Ramirez of Santa Paula and Julian Ramirez of Ventura; five daughters, Marie Beebe and Micaela Garcia, both of Ventura, Georgia Oropeza and Juanita Centeno, both of Oxnard, and Virginia Cabrera of El Paso, Texas; 34 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura.
Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church in Ventura, and burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura.
