City leaders have approved a long-term contract with a design architect who since 1991 has helped build parks and other facilities in town.
Richard Fisher & Associates, a Santa Ana firm, received a three-year contract capped at $300,000 to provide professional services to Laguna Hills.
The City Council unanimously approved the contract, although Councilman Randal J. Bressette had initially asked the council to consider using another architect.
“We have had a good relationship with [Fisher], but frankly, it’s time to go out and find a new relationship,” Bressette said.
Other council members said they were comfortable with the city’s long relationship with the architectural firm.
The company has worked for the city since incorporation as a part of Berryman and Henigar Inc. The company split off its landscape division and created Fisher & Associates in January.
