Sergeant to Discuss Gang Prevention

East Ventura residents and business owners who want to help prevent gang activity in the community are invited to attend a meeting May 21 at the Salvation Army Community Center, 650 S. Petit Ave.
Sgt. Ken Corney of the Ventura Police Department’s Gang Prevention and Intervention Unit will discuss gangs and their effects in the area.
Additionally, the winner of the logo contest for alcohol-free parks will be announced, and the youth’s artwork will be on display.
The 7 p.m. meeting is being organized by the East Ventura Community Council, which meets monthly to share concerns affecting area neighborhoods.
