Democrats Support Trustee Frogue’s Recall

The Orange County Democratic Party this week supported the recall of Steven Frogue as a trustee on the South Orange County Community College District board, saying it must “stand up against bigotry and anti-Semitism.”
Though Frogue has repeatedly denied he is anti-Semitic, Jeanne Costales, Democratic Party chair, said the party’s Central Committee has unanimously backed the recall of the embattled trustee.
A recall petition this year failed to get enough signatures, but another has been started.
Frogue has been accused of using ethnic slurs as a teacher and supporting groups considered offensive to Jews.
He proposed teaching a seminar last year on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy that would have featured speakers who have written for publications considered anti-Semitic, including one who questioned whether 6 million Jews died in the Holocaust.
Frogue has maintained that he is a victim of demagoguery and called the Holocaust one of the “great atrocities” of history.
