Downtown Revamp Discussion Continues
The City Council tonight is to continue discussions on revitalizing downtown through zoning, beautification and traffic measures outlined in the Downtown Specific Plan.
Public hearings on the plan were held last month.
Some business owners have complained that zoning changes would make it difficult to continue operating.
The Old Town commercial zoning slated for High Street is more restrictive than other zoning categories and could create difficulties for a number of businesses, according to a city staff report.
Requested by the council, the report names 11 businesses, four of them on High Street, that would not fit the proposed zoning changes.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m.
