Proposed Zoning Change

* Re the consistent attempts of the Shell Oil Co. to build a food mart and filling station at the corner of Highway 118 and Somis Road.
I do not wish the zone change from agriculture to commercial planned development for the following reasons:
* We do not need this enterprise. As one of our community members stated at a public hearing, “No one runs out of gas in Somis.”
* The precedent would endanger the existing agriculture by leading to irretrievable resources being converted into commercial development.
* The 24-hour “services” would invite crime.
* The hazard of ingress and egress and foot traffic would catapult the existing danger of traffic mortality.
