Three Moorpark College students received cash awards at a California Society of Radiologic Technologists conference in Reno earlier this month.
The students were all associated with the 8-year-old “Rad Tech” program at the college, which places students in internships at five local hospitals to teach them about X-ray techniques.
Cindy Schroeder, a member of the Rad Tech advisory board, won the $750 Ruth McMillan Scholarship, the highest honor granted by the society this year.
Cheryl Rayner, a Rad Tech student, won $150 for a display entered in one of the five-day conference’s competitions. Catherine Hillard, a 1994 Rad Tech graduate, took the $300 first place in the essay competition.
