Teen Suspected of Raping Schoolmate

SAUGUS — A Saugus High School student allegedly was raped by another student in a dark photo lab at the school Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The 15-year-old girl reported the 10 a.m. incident to a teacher, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Daniel Castillo. The girl was not injured but was taken to a local hospital for an examination, authorities said.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 16-year-old boy, a known gang member, on suspicion of forcible rape, Castillo said. The boy was being held Wednesday night at Juvenile Hall in Sylmar.
