Gallegly and Partisan Politics
While watching the election returns I heard the oft-repeated cliches, “The American people have spoken,” “The voters have sent a strong message to the politicians,” etc.
The question in my mind was, “Yeah, but are any of these guys listening? Did they get the message?”
Evidently not, for I soon saw my own Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley) thanking his campaign workers and well-wishers. He told them he had to leave the party early to fly back to Washington and resume the “important work” he was doing as a member of the Judiciary Committee, presumably to recommend impeachment of the president.
So much for messages. If there was one, Congressman Gallegly didn’t get it. For him, it’s still partisan politics as usual.
