Dunn Says She’s 2nd in House Leader Race

In the three-way race for Republican leader of the House, Jennifer Dunn of Washington state believes she is ahead of Steve Largent of Oklahoma but behind the incumbent, Dick Armey of Texas. “I’m right in the middle. . . . But you have to watch out for votes in these races,” Dunn said on CNN’s “Evans, Novak, Hunt and Shields.” House Republicans are to cast secret ballots Wednesday to choose their leaders for the 106th Congress, which will convene in January. If chosen, Dunn would become the second-highest-ranking leader in the Republican-led House and the first woman to hold such a high post in the chamber.
