Valenzuela Hits for the Cycle, 13-8

Ruben Valenzuela hit for the cycle and had three runs batted in to help Oxnard College defeat Antelope Valley, 13-8, in a round-robin game of the Santa Barbara baseball tournament Thursday at Ventura College.
Valenzuela, who finished with five hits, hit a two-run home run, a triple, two doubles and a run-scoring single.
Ruben Delgado and Jarod Krehbiel each had three hits for Oxnard (12-12). Mario Castro (1-0) pitched five innings in his first start, striking out three.
In other baseball games:
L.A. City 8, Ventura 3--Matt Alonzo homered and tripled for Ventura (14-12) in a round-robin game of the Santa Barbara tournament at Ventura.
Valley 12, Chaffey 1--Ed Jung had three hits and drove in four runs for Valley (9-18) in a round-robin game of the Rio Hondo tournament.
Sigi Arroyo had three hits, including a two-run double, and three RBIs.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
San Diego State def. CS Northridge, 11-15, 15-4, 15-13, 16-14--Eckhard Walter had 29 kills and five aces for Cal State Northridge (2-19, 1-15) in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match at San Diego State (2-14, 2-13).
SOFTBALL
Moorpark 4, Hancock 2--Jaclyn Aranda (15-3) pitched a five-hitter for Moorpark (24-6, 9-0) in a Western State Conference interdivisional game at Hancock.
