The state says six schools in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District have been performing below state standards for the last two years and has urged school officials to apply for state grants to improve the curriculum.
In an Aug. 12 letter sent to the Placentia-Yorba Linda school district, state Supt. Delaine Eastin said some schools had low Stanford 9 scores for 1998 and 1999.
The schools are Rio Vista, Ruby Drive, Topaz and John O. Tynes elementary schools, Kraemer Middle School, and Valencia High School.
