Holiday Closings

Saturday is Christmas Day. The following schedules will be in effect:

* All city, county, state and federal offices will be closed.

* Municipal, Superior and federal courts will be closed.

* City and county libraries will be closed.

* Banks and savings and loans will be closed.

* Schools: Public schools, community colleges, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, Chapman University are closed for winter break.

* Mail: There will be no mail delivery. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in boxes will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.

* Trash: There will be no trash collection.

* Buses: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a holiday schedule. Buses will run less frequently and many routes will not be operating at all. Access services for the disabled will be available 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. only. Call (714) 636-RIDE for information.

* Metrolink: Trains will not be running.
