Marine Remains Critical After Crash

SAN DIEGO — The surviving Marine of a crash that killed two colleagues on their return from a weekend trip to Tijuana remained in critical condition Monday.
Jacques Theus, 20, of Hackensack, N.J., suffered a head injury and multiple broken bones, Scripps Memorial Hospital spokeswoman Kristina Murden said Monday.
Killed were Raul Rodolfo Ruiz, 21, of Kerrville, Texas, and Miguel Ramirez Sanchez, 21, of Summit, Ill.
Theus and two other Camp Pendleton Marines were returning from Tijuana early Sunday when their car crashed about 5 a.m. at Encinitas, a coastal town about 20 miles north of San Diego.
