LOS ALAMITOS

Planning commissioners voted unanimously this week to postpone until Feb. 15 a decision on Jabberwocky Java’s new permit to seat customers outside the cafe on Los Alamitos Boulevard. Although two commissioners wanted to vote on the permit application, others said they needed more time to review studies submitted by the owners of the coffeehouse.
The new meeting comes just a few days before a Feb. 22 court date over a nuisance suit the city filed last year against the LeCompte family, which owns the cafe. The family has maintained that the original permit allowed the patio seating, but city officials disagreed.
The Feb. 16 meeting begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 3191 Katella Ave. Information: (562) 431-3538.
