Thank you for Richard Natale’s fine story on Columbia’s 75th anniversary (“A Studio for All Seasons,” Feb. 7). I must, however, offer one enormous correction. The article credits me with supervising several major restorations, including “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Dr. Strangelove.” In truth, I’ve never restored a foot of film in my life. I work in distribution; my job is to put the films in theaters.
Grover Crisp, Sony’s vice president of asset management, is the talented gentleman who oversees all our preservation and restoration, and never gets enough credit for doing so. Without him, I’d be a shop owner with barren shelves.
