OXNARD — The center lane of the Ventura Freeway southbound will be closed between Vineyard and Rice avenues in Oxnard from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today through Thursday for continuing construction on the Rose Avenue bridge.
Southbound drivers are encouraged to use the Vineyard Avenue offramp, and those traveling north might use the Rice Avenue exits to avoid traffic congestion at Rose Avenue.
The city of Oxnard began constructing the bridge in September 1997 and expects to complete work by March 1999. Two northbound and one southbound lanes are currently open on the bridge.
For information, call the city of Oxnard’s 24-hour message line at 339-1008.
