In closed session Tuesday evening, the City Council unanimously appointed its assistant city manager, Allison Hart, as city manager, effective July 1. Hart, who will become Orange County’s only female city manager, will succeed the retiring Paul Brady, who has worked for the city since 1972.
Hart, an Irvine resident, will become the third city manager since its 1971 incorporation. Brady will continue working full time for the city, serving as an advisor in special projects until June 30, 2000, when he will retire.
