The 1999 Festival of Whales Annual Pre-Golf Classic Gala will be held Feb. 7 at the Ritz-Carlton hotel. The evening will include dinner, dancing and a silent auction. The event will support the Orange County Marine Institute’s Student Aid Endowment Fund, which funds the institute’s outreach programs. The Golf Classic tournament will take place Feb. 8 at the Coto de Caza Golf and Racquetball Club. Information on both events: (949) 496-2274, Ext. 411. The city’s 28th annual Festival of Whales will take place Feb. 20 through March 7.
