An auxiliary group of the Boy Scouts of America Sea Base in Newport Harbor is seeking adult volunteers to help staff the Tall Ship Argus, a historic 92-foot ship used to train Scouts in traditional sailing. A crew orientation will be held Feb. 27, but participants must register in advance.
Crew members must be 18 or older, in good health, and have a desire to learn and teach the tall ship crew experience. Those who choose to register as a volunteer will be subject to voluntary random drug testing, must become certified for CPR and first aid, and attend the Boy Scouts Youth Protection Program. Registration: (949) 642-5031.
