The City Council tonight is expected to select a firm to design the city’s newest fire station. The station will be on Brea Boulevard and will serve the downtown development on Birch Street. City officials said the redevelopment will increase the need for fire services downtown. Staff has recommended that the council award the contract to RRM Design Group for $273,468. The fire station is expected to be completed by 2001.
