How to focus your business vision and foster originality will be the topics of a keynote address at the Small Business Week Awards luncheon in downtown Los Angeles on June 4.
Jodi Walker, president of Success Alliances in Northridge, who has given presentations to small businesses and Fortune 500 companies in the United States, Britain, Australia and Scotland, will be the speaker.
Every year the Small Business Administration honors small-business owners from SBA district offices who go on to compete for a national award, Small Business Person of the Year. The L.A. district winner, Margo Groger of G-G Industries in Valencia, and nine other business owners and activists will be honored.
Business owners are nominated for the SBA awards by lenders, trade associations, chambers of commerce and individuals. Evaluations are made by judging committees at district and regional SBA offices.
The awards luncheon will be held June 4 at Hotel Inter-Continental from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person.
Sponsors include the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, the SBA and the Los Angeles Times. Call Jennifer Bayer at the chamber for reservations, (213) 580-7585,, or go to http://mediakit.nohib.com/sba.
