Brian Lowry is surprised at the success of “Judging Amy” (“A Case of Misjudging Amy,” Oct. 30). Wake up, Brian! You are missing the biggest reason for the show’s success. Viewers don’t watch the show to see Amy Brenneman’s hair or because we think it will be a “Providence” clone as alluded to in your article.

I watch “Judging Amy” because of Tyne Daly’s excellent acting! She is so believable in any part she plays and such a gifted performer that she steals every single scene she is in. I can easily see her being nominated for an Emmy award for her work on this show. I also watch the show because of Richard Jones’ noteworthy performance.
