Westlake Breezes in Marmonte Opener

Zac Wasserman threw four touchdown passes and Westlake scored more points than Royal had yards in a 45-3 Marmonte League victory Friday at Westlake.
The Warriors (4-1, 1-0 in league play) scored on their first seven possessions in the first half and held Royal to 44 yards in the game.
Michael Brignac set up the Warriors’ first two touchdowns with 22- and 32-yard punt returns, and later scored on 62- and 75-yard touchdown pass plays from Wasserman. Brignac finished with four receptions for 158 yards.
The Warriors outgained the Highlanders, 300-4, in the first half, and 429-44 for the game. Westlake is averaging 40.8 points per game in its four victories.
Westlake did not allow Royal (1-4, 0-2) a first down until three minutes before halftime, when the Warriors led, 45-0.
Wasserman completed 12 of 21 passes for 210 yards. He hit nine receivers and did not have an interception.
Royal avoided the shutout when Evan Kay kicked a 48-yard field goal with 10 minutes to play.
