The Amazing Maize Maze in Camarillo, a maze made of corn stalks that had planned to operate through October, was unexpectedly shut down for the year Oct. 7 because of hot, dry weather. The corn “was very, very dry and we had extreme fire weather,” according to a spokeswoman for the Ventura County Fire Department.
