$1 Million Worth of Auto Parts Stolen

SIMI VALLEY — An automotive-parts business was burglarized in broad daylight Saturday of more than $1 million worth of inventory, police said.

The burglary occurred shortly after 10 a.m. at J.M.R. Hobbies, a shop and warehouse in the 60 block of Easy Street, said Simi Valley Police Officer Scott La Rue.

Police said the burglar or burglars broke in through a steel roll-up door and then used one of the shop’s forklifts to haul out two pallets of vehicle parts and tools.

During the break-in, the shop’s alarm system was disabled with wire cutters, police said.
