The Chamber of Commerce will be nominating only one candidate for the seventh annual Clara Barton Spectrum Awards. She will be nominated in the category of Personal Achievement, for being “a woman who has overcome extraordinary obstacles in improving the quality of her own life, or that of others in her community.”
The nominee had been suggested by several of the chamber’s members, but her identity must remain a secret until the ceremony, said Barbara Eames, administrative assistant at the Chamber.
The awards luncheon will be hosted by the Orange County Red Cross, and takes place Oct. 28 at the Irvine Marriott Hotel. Information: (714) 898-9648.
