St. Bonaventure 37, Channel Islands 20--Michael Spargo overcame a shaky start in which he threw two interceptions and fumbled on the first three possessions and helped the Seraphs to a nonleague victory at Ventura High.
Spargo completed 14 of 20 passes for 159 yards and touchdowns of three, 15 and 38 yards.
Lorenzo Booker ran for 111 yards in 13 carries and two touchdowns for St. Bonaventure (2-0). He scored on a three-yard run and a 38-yard reception from Spargo.
Adam Gray-Hayward had five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown.
Tommy Menga rushed for 90 yards in 27 carries and scored three touchdowns and a two-point conversion for the Raiders (0-2).
