Reno Rejects Inquiry

* On three occasions, Atty. Gen. Janet Reno has directed her staff to investigate possible illegal campaign finance practices by Al Gore. On all three of those occasions, the staff that she appointed has found that there is sufficient evidence to merit the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the matter. On all three occasions, Reno has refused to follow the recommendations of her own staff (Aug. 24).
It seems to me that a great deal of staff time and taxpayer money could be saved if Reno would tell her staff what conclusion she wants them to reach before they begin their investigation.
