WESTWOOD — A marching band, gospel singers and entertainer Steve Allen will help mark the birthday of Abraham Lincoln today at the Los Angeles National Cemetery.
Allen will recite the Gettysburg Address during ceremonies at the veterans cemetery, said Duke Russell, organizer of the eighth annual Los Angeles Lincoln Remembrance.
Music from the mid-1800s will be performed by the Salvation Army Long Beach Citadel Band, Agostino Castagnola of the Los Angeles Music Center Opera and the Hamilton High School Gospel Choir, Russell said.
The tribute to the 16th president, planned for noon at 950 S. Sepulveda Blvd., will be free.
